July Payday!

payday

It’s here! The Tweetbucks team paid out all users whose accounts were over $25 for July earnings.

Remember that it takes approximately 30 days for transactions to ‘clear’ so this payday will be for all transactions recorded in July. Any commissions or click revenue recorded in August you will be paid on the next payment cycle.

Tweetbucks’ Ad-Frame Disabled

We’re sad to announce that we’ve had to temporarily disable the Tweetbucks’ Ad Frame option due to a series of malicious ‘bots’ attacking the Tweetbucks system.  One of the affects of these attacks was an ‘unusual’ account balance increase that affected a few of our user’s account balances over the last couple of weeks.  Since our policy does not allow us to charge advertisers (or award you) for malicious clicks, you may notice a decrease in your account balance as we correct the situation.

You can still earn revenue by using Tweetbucks by:

  1. Shortening links to merchants we are affiliated with and tweeting them
  2. Retweeting deals & offers listed on our Deals & Offers site
  3. Referring friends to Tweetbucks

Tweetbucks is still in beta and as such, the services provided by Tweetbucks may change as we make continue to improve and strengthen our product for your enjoyment and cash generation.

It’s Payday at Tweetbucks!!

It’s finally here! The Tweetbucks team paid out all users whose accounts were over $25 on Friday.

Remember that it takes approximately 30 days for transactions to ‘clear’ so this payday will be for all transactions recorded in June.  Any commissions or click revenue recorded in July you will be paid on the next payment cycle.

Affiliate Evolution - And How To Survive It

sugarraebkg960According to Rae Hoffman, the online domain is undergoing an evolution. Surprisingly,  this evolution will not be technology based, but rather strategy based. She advises affiliates to “prepare, strategize and execute based on it.”  She lists several ways to do exactly that, so if you are an experienced affiliate, listen up.

1) Buy brandable domains A domain name that is brandable is more important than if it is  loaded with keywords. If possible, buy those that already exist to get ahead of the game.

2) Create unique content If your site has multiple links, that is all good but it is no use if there is not good content to back it up. Read these tips on how to create good online content.

3) Dialogue not monologue Your site should enable a dialogue, and not rely on monologue. After the 2.0 revolution, readers and users can provide feedback to published content, creating a dialogue between publishers/service providers and their audience. The sites then have user-generated content.

4) Design is important We all probably have come across badly visually designed websites and what did they leave us with? A bad first impression. Your site is like your business card, it should appeal to potential clients to call you. An ugly design makes it harder for you to be taken seriously by visitors and potential partners. You don’t need an elaborate design; less is more. An easy navigation where visitors don’t have to think about how to click to your content always works.

War of the Retweets

ReTweet
TweetMeme

This retweeting thing is a big deal. It must be, Within 24 hours after a blog post about the upcoming launch of  TweetMeme’s competitor Retweet was published, the TweetMeme founder, Nick Halstead, called ReTweet with a complaint and a threat of a lawsuit. After reading the Mashable.com article, he states that the retweet button Javascript and the Wordpress plugin code used in ReTweet is the exact copy of the one that was created by TweetMeme. Erick Schonfeld from Mashable made this comment, “He [Nick Halstead] takes being king of retweets very seriously.” It just comes to show that retweeting is a very popular function to use with Twitter, where sharing valuable content became that much easier. Retweeting is very much a valuable function for Tweetbucks as well, where you can retweet awesome offers and deals to your followers, and everyone can make great savings. If retweeting is worth fighting for, it must be worth using.

How to create good content

p_15design_content1

As mentioned in our previous post, good content is what makes your blog or twitterstream stand out. According to TweeSpeed, there are posted approximately 15,714 tweets per minute right now, so you better make yours count. Some of you may ask “What IS good content?”, so here are some useful key points:

1) Make your content informative - Your tweets should provide information that your followers can use, like suggestions of products that interest them.

2) Make your content entertaining - Your tweets should be interesting so that people would want to follow you back.

3) Make your content newsworthy - Provide some news that they would be interested in, like current deals and offers of the day

4) Make your content personal  -No one wants to follow a robot, so participate in the Twitter community and provide feedback and useful opinions.

We are living in exponential times

snapshot-2009-07-27-13-07-001Did you know that it took only 4 years for the Internet to reach a market audience of 50 million? The iPod 3 years? Facebook took 2 years? I didn’t until I saw the “Did You Know 3.0?” video created by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod.  It makes you think, especially knowing that it took the television 13 years to reach the same target.  We are living in exponential times. In 2006, there were 2.7 billion Google searches every month and by 2009 the figure rose to a staggering 31 billion! The Internet has changed how people are communicating with each other; geographical boundaries are no longer an obstacle.  Then along came Facebook, which took shook the ground of social networking and got people talking and sharing from around the globe. The newest addition to the social networking scene is Twitter.  It allows for rapid updates by its users, as to what they are up to.  Tweetbucks have recognized this mass popular online trend and believes it offers endless opportunities for its users. We all are experiencing an exponential increase of information each year, particular in technology data. Check the video out and let us know if it makes you think too!

Tips for Affiliate Marketers on Using Twitter

twitter-buttons

Thanks to the wisdom of the fine folks at Problogger,Tweetbucks is going to share some tips for all those affiliate marketers out there using twitter to make money.

Tip #1:

If you’re going to directly promote products from Twitter make sure they are relevant to the followers you have.

Tip #2:

Personalization matters.  A personal recommendation is going to get a much better response in terms of actual conversions and it is far less likely to hurt your relationship with your followers as the tweet will be in your voice and hopefully out of your experience with the product.

 Tip #3:

Listen to your followers.  If you engage in affiliate marketing on twitter make sure you stay in tune with how people respond. This doesn’t just mean watching what people ‘reply’ to you but also means watching what happens to subscriber numbers after you tweet and also watching what people say about you without using your @username.

Well I hope you all learned something today.  Stay tuned for more gems of wisdom.

6 Good Reasons Why Your Business Needs Twitter

twitter_bird_follow_me__small__biggerNo one can deny the impact of Twitter on creating online personal connections and improving your networking. The same can be said for business networking and Robert Freeze will tell you why. He has listed 6 reasons why you must start warming up your fingers and start twittering.

1) “People are looking for you”: Nowadays more and more people are hopping on the Twitter wagon,  and they are looking for other Twitterers with similar interests in products and news. That divides Twitter demographic into niche groups already, so if the right people know about your products and recommend them to their followers, you will get a very profitable exposure on your business.

2) “Bring traffic to your Site”: The Twitter platform offers more options for sharing content, where you can post links, articles and promotions from your site. This will drive traffic to your site page and also depends on how many followers you have; more is more, obviously.

3)”Keep your customers informed”: Along with Facebook fan pages and e-newsletters, Twitter is an excellent method to inform your customers on news, upcoming events and products. If your business has a blog, link Twitter to your blog and send a tweet when there is a new post.

4) “Put a face to the company name “: People are less likely to be wary of  a company with a human face behind it. Your followers can respond to your activity tweets and a connection between the company’s employees and customers will be built. This will develop into one of the most valuable assets in business: the customers’ trust.

5) “Respond real-time to news.”: E-mails may be fast, but tweets are faster.  You can quickly respond to your company news and your followers will receive them in an informal and friendly medium. If it is good news, you can spread it around the Twittersphere, where as if it is bad or false,  you will be able to do damage control quickly  and customers can get your side of the story first.

6) “Find new opportunities.”: Since Twitter connects you and other business and people, it lets you share information and to see other companies’ information.  It provides an excellent market strategy and research, so you can become more aware of  what new service or products you can provide, as well as how you can improve what you already have.
